Over 400 Attend Movie Night at Upper Landing
Poughkeepsie, NY: Over four hundred people came out to enjoy a free showing of HOW TO TRAIN YOUR DRAGON 2, and hear music by The Cagneys on July 25th at the Upper Landing Park, Poughkeepsie, NY. This was the second in a series of family-friendly movie nights taking place beneath the Walkway Over the Hudson at the Upper Landing Park this summer.
On August 8th, Grease with musical guests, THE GREYHOUNDS, plus a Grease Costume Contest.
Musical entertainment begins at 7 p.m., followed by the feature film at sundown, approximately 8:30 p.m.
On October 3rd, the final showing will occur under the tent on the evening following the Walkway’s Starry, Starry Nights Gala, in Highland, NY. The final movie selection will be voted upon by the public at the Facebook page – MOVIE NIGHTS UNDER THE WALKWAY. Voting will take place take from July 18 through August 22nd.
This movie night has been coordinated with the Upper Landing Park Community Day.
The MHR Foundation and the Walkway are partnering with the Poughkeepsie Public Library District, Spark Media Group, New York State Parks Department, Bardavon, Scenic Hudson, and the Mid-Hudson Civic Center to present the free film series for the community. The media sponsor is IHeart Media and the promotional sponsors are Clark Patterson Lee Engineers, Mid-Hudson Subaru, Rhinebeck Ford, Marshall and Sterling Insurance, Ballantine Communications, and Millman’s T-Shirt Factory.
Since these events will take place at the Upper Landing Park under the stars, all attending are encouraged to bring blankets and chairs to enjoy the movies. Local food vendors will be on hand. The events are sunshine only.
